Tourism Day, Tourism Ireland,
in association with Greenpop,
planted trees at Witkoppen
Primary School on September
23. This year, the theme for
international Tourism Day
was ‘tourism and community
development’. The objective of
the tree-planting initiative was
to give back to the community
at large through environmental,
economic and social benefits.
Fun was had by all as the
excited students rolled up their
sleeves and dug holes, planted
trees and made sure the new
trees were well looked after.
