On November 15, Cruises International will welcome Azamara Cruises to South African shores with an exclusive ship visit, on the arrival of the Azamara Pursuit in Cape Town.
“Cape Town’s inclusion in Azamara’s global itineraries marks another milestone for South Africa’s positioning as a world-class cruise destination,” says Thaybz Khan, Head of Commercial at Cruises International.
“When global brands include our ports in their voyages, South Africa is being connected to the global tourism economy. We are building bridges between South African travel partners and international brands, with some foreign travellers discovering our continent’s beauty for the first time.”
Azamara’s visit also hints at future plans for deeper engagement with the South African market, with discussions under way for a potential return in 2027.
“While details remain in discussion, and not entirely confirmed, the momentum signals growing interest from international cruise brands in South Africa’s expanding luxury travel landscape and we are so ready for it,” said Khan.
With a fleet of just four mid-sized ships, each accommodating around 700 guests, Azamara offers an exclusive ambience that blends luxury and personalised service. Its signature Destination Immersion experiences allow travellers to spend more time in port, explore hidden harbours and be immersed in local cultures.
