Dedicated domestic arrivals facility opens in Gatwick

London Gatwick has opened a new arrivals facility for domestic travellers.

The £24m (R398m) investment lets passengers from the UK and the Republic of Ireland disembark from a jetty or via aircraft steps instead of being coached from the aircraft.

A new dedicated baggage reclaim belt has also been installed, providing fast collection of luggage, freeing up capacity for international passengers.

For departing passengers, e-gates and biometric technology have transformed the process by using more efficient self-service.
