SkyMiles members can now use the Fly Delta app to purchase a seat upgrade using miles instead of cash.
This new option lets members travelling for business or leisure use their personal miles via the Fly Delta app or Delta.com to upgrade their experience whenever they fly. Miles can be used to upgrade a single leg or multiple legs of a journey.
How to purchase seat upgrades using SkyMiles
Customers can log into the Fly Delta app and click on the ‘My Trips’ tab. They then select the trip for which they would like to buy an upgrade, and select a seat from the available premium seats displayed on the seat map. The cash price as well as the amount of miles needed to buy the seat will show. Members can then confirm their preferred seat and complete the purchase.
With the new function comes the ‘Where's My Plane’ feature, making it easier for customers to view the status of their flight and track in-bound aircraft.
