Emirates starts flights to Colombia

Emirates has announced it will serve a daily route between Miami International Airport and El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, Colombia, starting June 3.

Flight EK213 will depart from Dubai at 02h15 and arrive at Miami at 10h05 before departing at 12h35 and arriving in Bogota at 15h25. The return flight EK214 from Bogotá will depart at 17h25 and arrive in Miami at 22h15, then take off at 00h45 to arrive in Dubai at 23h00.

In 2021, the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority and the UAE signed an agreement enabling UAE carriers, Emirates and Etihad, to operate daily flights to Bogotá. The arrangement allowed the UAE carriers to increase their flight frequency to Bogota to multiple daily flights if they served the route for a year.

From the beaches of Johnny Cay and San Andrés to the tropical landscapes of the Los Nevados National Natural Park, Colombia is home to numerous unique tourist attractions.

The Museu del Oro, or Museum of Gold, is Bogotá’s top tourist attraction, featuring artworks and pre-Colombian gold artefacts portraying the legend of El Dorado. Spanish Conquistadors spent decades searching for the legendary Muisca people and their mythical city of gold, rumoured to be located in the northern Andes in modern-day Colombia.

Emirates currently operates multiple routes to South America, including Buenos Aires in Argentina as well as Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in Brazil.
