ALMOST two thirds of travel
consultants did not go on an
educational in the last year.
That was the surprise finding
of the most extensive survey of
employment conditions in the travel
industry in which 981 participated.
396 of the 619 who replied to
the question in the March TNW
survey on how many educationals
they had attended in the last year
said they had not been. Only 9%
said they had been on two or more
educationals.
Most companies do contribute
to the cost of educationals
when their staff do go. 69% of
respondents said their companies
contribute toward some or all of the
educationals.
Only agents with more than 20 years of
service get more than an average of 15
days of leave.
Whereas 20% of new entrants with
less than two years’ experience get
more than 15 days, this percentage
grows to 45% by the time they have
5 to 10 years’ experience.
