Lodge incorporated into Addo as part of expansion

RIVER Bend Country Lodge has been incorporated into the Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape as part of the reserve’s expansion plans. The owners of the lodge have been awarded one of two concessions granted by South African National Parks in the 17 000-hectare Nyati Concession. This concession is an extension of Addo and will only be open to the two concession holders and their guests. A huge game relocation programme, which started in April, will result in the concession being stocked with ‘Big 5’ game and numerous other animal species endemic to the area. The lodge, which offers eight luxurious double suites with inter-leading rooms will move from a B&B rate to a fully inclusive rate from September. The rate will include accommodation, meals, two game drives, selected drinks, park levies and treatments at the newly opened Vitality Studio. Situated on the Port Elizabeth/Paterson main road in the Eastern Cape, the lodge offers, among others, an executive meeting room for 20, children’s play area, game drives, guided walks, birding, swimming pool and beauty spa.
