LUFTHANSA has extended
its fees for advance seat
reservations to its longhaul
flights, effective April 28,
although the charge will not
apply to all booking classes.
The carrier charges a €25
(R366) fee per flight for
economy passengers who
wish to reserve a specific
seat at the time of booking.
Passengers can reserve a
seat in the selected booking
classes W, S, T, L and K.
For the remaining booking
classes, economy class
advance seat reservation
remains free of charge, as
well as for premium
economy class, business
and first class.
Passengers are still able
to select their preferred seat
at no extra charge when
they check in up to 23 hours
before departure.
Lufthansa introduced a fee
for seat selection on its shorthaul
services in November
last year.
