VIRGIN Atlantic has
appointed Liezl Gericke
as head of Middle East
and Africa and Amanda
‘Mandy’ Lerena has been
promoted to commercial
manager for South Africa. Both
positions come into effect on
October 1, 2017.
Liezl, currently head of South
Africa, will take on the added
responsibility for Nigeria and
Dubai, and will be based in
Johannesburg.
She will lead an 80-strong
team across three markets.
After joining Virgin Atlantic
in 2012, Liezl quickly rose
up the ranks as a senior
female leader, and took up
the position of South Africa
country head in early 2015.
Mandy is the longest serving
member of the South African
team, having joined Virgin
Atlantic in September 1997.
Over the last two decades,
Mandy has worked her way up
to become sales manager for
South Africa.
