New Tanzanian airline on the cards

Fly-SAX, a Kenyan safari and private
charter airline, is awaiting regulatory
approval to launch SAX-Tanzania, a
new Tanzania-based airline.
The company has appointed Brown
Francis to head up the operation as
gm and expects its maiden flight
to take off in the second half of
this year.
“We are launching a new airline to
meet the ever-increasing demand for
low-cost, efficient and safe air travel
within Tanzania, for the country’s own
citizens as well as tourists visiting the
country,” says Don Smith, ceo and
founder of Fly-SAX and Fly540 Kenya.
“I am delighted to be working again
with Brown. Having previously headed
up Fly540 and Fastjet’s operations
in Tanzania, he brings a wealth of
experience and local knowledge to
SAX-Tanzania.
