London’s Oxford Street will begin a major project on October 26 to turn the famous road into a pedestrian zone.
The first phase will cover the section between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street, banning buses, taxis, bicycles and other vehicles to create a pedestrian plaza.
According to TravelMole, the project aims to establish a greener public space where major international retailers sit alongside new workplaces, leisure attractions and cultural events. Future activities could include sports, fashion and other entertainment experiences.
