Ryanair is reducing capacity in Germany and Austria, citing high aviation taxes and airport charges.
According to TravelMole, the airline will cut 700 000 seats from its German winter 2026/27 schedule, a 10% reduction year on year.
The cuts include the closure of its Berlin base, the withdrawal of 12 routes from the German capital and reduced services from Hamburg. Ryanair will also end all flights to and from Bremen from April 2027.
In Austria, the airline will withdraw four Vienna-based aircraft and cancel 12 routes this winter.
Ryanair says it will redirect aircraft and capacity to lower-cost European markets.
