Table Bay Hotel increases refurb budget
SUN International’s Table Bay at Cape Town’s Victoria & Alfred Waterfront
continues its multimillion-rand refurbishment, with a further R8,6m to be
invested before the end of the year. Over the past year R12,6m has been
spent on the refurbishment. The 311-room, five-star Table Bay has 18 suites, a
swimming pool, spa and fitness area, conference facilities for up to 300 guests,
a pavilion for banquets and receptions, and a ballroom for private functions.
During the revamp, the exterior was repainted, carpets in guest rooms were
replaced and a new restaurant, Camissa Brasserie, was opened. All the boilers
throughout the property were replaced with energy-efficient heat pumps and
staff change-rooms received a makeover. Currently under way is the upgrade
of the Atlantic Grill restaurant, the installation of new LED TV screens and TV
cabinets in the guest rooms. Public spaces, including the lounge, reception
and corridors, will also be refurbished with new carpets and furniture over the
coming months
