R60 000 cash incentive kicks off training

R60 000 cash incentive
kicks off trainingR60 000 in cash and
several hundred
thousand rands worth
of incentive prizes will be on
the table following the launch
of Travelinfo’s 24/7 product
training classroom this
month.
Cash draws of R10 000
a month for six months will
start from July.
Sixteen suppliers, ranging
from airlines to car hire, have
put up workshops which
earn consultants 200 points
for each one completed.
Agents can earn up to 50%
bonus points for completing
a workshop that is one of
their travel groups’ preferred
suppliers.
All consultants that have
accumulated 1400 points
completing Travelinfo
Workshops by the end of July
will go into the draw.
The new Travelinfo
Workshops system credits
workshops completed since
last July. Consultants can
see how many points they’ve
accumulated by looking at
their training dashboard found
on the home page menu of
Travelinfo under “Workshops”.
Reports on each
consultants’ progress will
be mailed to all branch
managers and consortia
managers every month.
From August, the number of
points needed to be included
in the cash draw will be
increased each month by 200
points until it reaches 2400.
The idea is that through
regular ongoing product
training, most travel agents
will soon reach the peak
of five-star status where
they have earned 2400
points over the preceding
12 months, said Travelinfo’s
divisional head, Linda van
der Pol.
By just completing one
workshop a month, they will
be able to keep this status.
“All consortia to which we
have presented the concept
have been enthusiastic
about the idea of on-demand
training in easy modular form.
Product knowledge is vital
for the future of the industry
and most have indicated they
will be making it part of their
consultants’ key performance
areas,” she said.
