Scottish Palace develops tourist attractions

Scone Palace in Perthshire, Scotland, has received approval for a £10 million (R224 million) project to develop new tourist attractions on the historic property.

Perth and Kinross Council approved a plan that includes the alteration and extension of the Palace stables to form a visitor centre comprising café, ticket office and shop.

It also approved plans to construct an outdoor children’s play area, additional parking and new cycling and pedestrian paths.

Scone Palace is known as the site of medieval parliaments and coronations of the kings of Scotland.
