TSOGO Sun announced that
its ceo, Marcel von Aulock,
will resign at the end of June
after six years in the position.
Marcel took over as ceo of
Tsogo Sun in September 2011
and has been with the company
since 1999.
Jacques Booysen, current md of
Tsogo Sun, will take over as ceo
from July 1.
During Marcel’s time as ceo,
Tsogo Sun bought a controlling
stake in the hospitality-focused
real estate investment trust,
Hospitality Property Fund, to
compete with property rivals
and create value for its hotel
business.
Jacques, who has long been
considered Marcel’s natural
successor, will be taking over at
a time when Tsogo Sun is looking
to buy more hotel assets in the
UK through International Hotel
Properties Limited, a European
hotel investment firm in which it
holds a 25% stake.
