Effective September 14, Virgin Atlantic will reactivate refunds through the GDSs.
“With increased processing capability and greater certainty we can now support automated refunds and clear the backlog of Virgin Atlantic refunds faster,” said the airline in a statement.
Virgin Atlantic’s team began to reject previous BSP refund applications by age on September 7. As each application is rejected a message will be added to BSP saying “Please resubmit through GDS from September 14”. Agents are advised to refer to the GDS Helpdesk for specific entries or formats for the reprocessing of refund requests.
