Capitec has launched new travel benefits for its credit card holders, including airport lounge access. However, the offering only applies to bookings made via the airline’s direct booking websites.
Capitec credit card holders now receive 12 domestic and 12 international airport lounge visits a year, via its partnership with DragonPass.
The DragonPass offers travellers access to domestic Bidvest lounges and over 1 200 international lounges. The lounge access can be shared with travel companions, but the visits will be deducted from the total.
Cardholders are also offered the opportunity to exchange their lounge allowance for an airport restaurant dining voucher.
To redeem the benefit, cardholders must use their Capitec credit card to purchase a ticket directly from a qualifying airline, costing at least R1 500. The qualifying airlines include all South African carriers, as well as 90 international airlines.
