Envoyage South Africa general manager Chantal Gouws told the room at Envoyage’s Awards evening on Saturday, 15 August. “It’s a community that has come together and created something so unique and so special, and that is what tonight is all about.” It was the line that set the tone for what turned into a full weekend of celebration for Envoyage’s top-performing agents, agencies and suppliers. The celebrations kicked off on Friday night when Envoyage’s top-achieving unbranded agencies were treated to dinner at Madame Zingara where they enjoyed live cabaret, burlesque and circus acts. It set a fittingly festive tone before the main event the following night. Envoyage’s annual Awards evening was held under the theme “Northern Lights”, and you didn’t just see it, you felt it. Guests stepped into what felt like their own slice of the Arctic: a Sami village complete with fires and huskies, tables glowing under atmospheric ice-cube lighting, and Vikings pouring shots from ice sculptures. Face painters worked the crowd, and a violinist performed from inside a giant bubble. It was, by every account, mind-blowing: sponsors clearly pulled out all the stops for a night nobody in the room will forget in a hurry. But underneath the spectacle, the real story of the evening was connection. Opening proceedings, Corporate Traveller South Africa general manager Herman Heunes, said: “Tonight isn’t about the emails or the late nights. Tonight is about you. It’s one of those rare nights where we’re all in the same room together, not just catching up on a screen, but really catching up with people we don’t get to see enough.” Gouws reflected on a milestone year for the business. “This has been a massive year for us: we remained focused on our top priorities: retention, growth and technology. Tonight is your night to shine, and every single one of you in this room should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved.” Then the warmth of the room gave way to its biggest moment: the announcement of this year’s award winners, honoured across categories including Top Agent, Top Agency, Top Land Rep, Top Air Rep, Top 3rd Party Supplier and Top Land Support Consultant. For an industry built on independence, resilience and long hours behind the scenes, it was a night to be seen, celebrated and thanked. Many of this year’s top performers have another reason to celebrate still to come: Envoyage’s annual Icons reward trip touches down in Vietnam from 2 to 6 November 2026, in partnership with Intrepid Travel, recognising the consortium’s highest-performing travel entrepreneurs with a bucket-list trip of their own. Envoyage congratulates all its winners and thanks its agents, agencies and partners for another outstanding year.
