1. Stop using it for things you are bad at The agents getting the most out of AI are not using it to do tasks they are bad at. They are using it to accelerate tasks they are already good at - faster, smarter, and more strategically. 2. Give it a name Call it Eddie, Bob, or whatever feels natural. The moment you humanise your AI assistant, you stop treating it like a search engine and start having a real conversation. Real conversations produce far richer, more relevant results. 3. Feed it your expertise A generic prompt produces a generic output. Layer your client knowledge, supplier relationships, tone of voice, and professional judgement over the tool and the output becomes genuinely useful. Upload a week’s worth of your sent emails and let it learn how you sound. 4. Use it for the admin. Save yourself for the humans. Let AI handle first-draft emails, itinerary formatting, summarising supplier contracts, and responding to routine queries. This creates space for the work no algorithm can replicate: reading between the lines, managing anxious travellers, and building the kind of trust that generates referrals. 5. Remember what it cannot do AI cannot read between the lines when a client says they want something relaxing but actually means they are exhausted and need to reconnect with their family. It will not take the 11pm call from the airport when a connection falls apart. That is human work. And it is irreplaceable. “It is the best assistant you have ever had,” Rosa concluded. “The only issue is that, like most assistants, it cannot be left unsupervised.”
Five ways to make AI work for you
