Japan cruises blossom

JAPAN has become one of the fastest-growing cruise destinations for South African travellers, with cruise operators reporting soaring demand for itineraries centred on cherry blossom season, autumn foliage and immersive cultural experiences. Industry experts told Travel News that the country’s simplified eVisa process had also helped remove a key barrier for South Africans considering long-haul travel to Asia, making Japan feel more accessible and easier to navigate. “Japan has evolved from being a niche Asian destination into one of the most requested cruise regions amongst South African travellers, particularly experienced cruisers and those travelling within the premium and luxury segments,” said Thaybz Khan, Head of Commercial at Cruises International.
