The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland partnered with the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity to offer Edinburgh Zoo’s penguins a selection of hand-painted pebbles for their mating and breeding season.
The children at the hospital have been painting pebbles so that they can watch as the penguins sift through the pile to pick the perfect pebble for their mate, on the zoo’s live stream.
This is part of an ongoing partnership that connects the young patients with nature and the animals at Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park.
