Emirates has extended its pre-paid excess baggage allowance offer until September 30.
Customers are offered up to 10 pieces of excess luggage which is charged per piece and is valid for travel to all Emirates online destinations. This, in addition to the free allowance is applicable in all classes.
The rates are as follows:
Travel from Africa to DXB, IN / CN and the EK network (excluding DXB / IN / CN) will cost customers USD150 (R 2,167), USD175 (R 2, 528) and USD200 (R2, 890) respectively.
All baggage allowance and excess baggage charges are valid on EK operated flights only and will not apply to code-share flights operated by partner carries, says the carrier.
The following conditions apply:
- Flight loads to be checked before issuing EMD (electronic multipurpose document)
- Tickets sold and issued within Africa (except AO -LAD)
- Extra baggage is only applicable for travel originating from Africa - except AO-LAD.
- Baggage must be through checked to the final destination.
- The sum of the dimensions of baggage should not exceed 158cm.
- No single piece of baggage should weigh more than 32Kgs.
- EMD must be issued for excess baggage charges and purchased prior to commencement of journey.
- Associated ticket number must be stated on the EMD.
- Refund permitted on totally un-utilized EMD. No refund permitted on partially utilized EMD.
- Passengers travelling from BKK are allowed a maximum of five pieces of baggage including both free baggage allowance and pre-paid baggage.
