New conference centre opens at Vic Falls
THE new conference venue at The David Livingstone Safari Lodge
and Spa, in Zambia, is now open. The facility has an internal space
of 250sqm and offers WiFi as well as AV equipment. The facility
can accommodate 280 guests in cinema-style seating, 138 guests
in convention seating and 192 guests for a banquet. The event
space is continued outside with a 140sqm Bedouin-tented patio
area seating 160 guests, which overlooks a waterhole where guests
can view elephant, impala and local birdlife. There is a boardroom
facility for up to 12 guests and an open-air boma and amphitheatre
venue where guests can enjoy traditional cuisine and watch
performances by local talent. The bar is named ‘The Watering Hole’.
eLan Property Group takes on
Franschhoek hotel
THE eLan Property Group has purchased L’ermitage Hotel in
Franschhoek. African Insignia Hotels has been awarded the sales
and management contract. The property offers villa-styled leisure
and business accommodation, conferencing facilities for up to 80
delegates and wedding facilities all overlooking the Franschhoek
Mountains. The on-site restaurant offers breakfast and dinner with
personalised menus, updated daily.
Cape Town Hollow Boutique Hotel
receives a revamp
THE Cape Town Hollow Boutique Hotel, which is managed by the
Seasons in Africa group, is being revamped and will open midSeptember
under a new management team and with a new fourstar
status. The renovation will see the 56 rooms being redecorated,
bathrooms remodelled and the kitchen, reception, dining room and
lounge receiving a makeover.
