Uganda Airlines has warned of temporary disruption to flights following the grounding of two of its long-haul aircraft due to unscheduled maintenance. This is affecting flights between Entebbe and London and Mumbai.
Flights to Dubai and Lagos are also expected to face disruption.
In a notice posted on Facebook, the airline said flights might be consolidated or delayed to ensure operational capacity and that it was contacting affected passengers directly. Affected passengers are also being rebooked on partner airlines.
“We are working to source the required components and expertise to return these aircraft to service as soon as possible. We urge passengers on London and Mumbai flights to check the flight status on our website,” said the airline.
According to ch-aviation, Uganda Airlines is working to secure a short-term wet-lease to compensate for aircraft that are out of service.
