Carnival Cruise Line has launched Carnival Rewards, a new loyalty programme that allows guests to earn rewards through cruise purchases and everyday spending.
The programme introduces two currencies: Carnival Rewards Points and Status Qualifying Stars. Points can be earned on eligible Carnival purchases and redeemed towards future cruises and eligible onboard experiences, while Stars determine a guest’s loyalty status.
Guests earn three points and three Stars for every US$1 (R17,40) spent on eligible Carnival purchases, including cruises, spa treatments, shore excursions and gratuities.
The programme has four status levels. Guests receive Red status on enrolment, progressing to Gold after earning 10 000 Stars, Platinum at 50 000 Stars and Diamond at 100 000 Stars. Status is determined within a four-year qualification period.
Carnival has also introduced a Milestone Recognition Programme based on the number of days guests have sailed with the cruise line. Recognition begins at 50 sailing days, with further milestones marked every 100 days thereafter.
“Cruise loyalty has traditionally been built around how often guests sail, and Carnival Rewards is designed to go beyond that,” said Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line.
