Egypt visas now take four times longer

The processing time for visa applications to Egypt has been extended from five to 21 business days.

The embassy told eTNW that the decision had been taken to “improve the delivery of the consulate services”.

“The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in South Africa is always keen to meet a succession of deadlines and grant all possible facilities to South Africans,” a spokesperson said.

In a separate development, applicants are now required to provide a certified copy of the information page in their passports. Applicants will need to submit a certified copy every time they apply for a new visa, marketing director at Visas International, Robert Ramsden, told eTNW.
